Formed in 1994 by a small group of past sufferers. A venue and initial funding came from a church in Westhill, Aberdeenshire.

As the group gained momentum, the Eating Disorders Service in Aberdeen saw its value offering support, and some partial funding was secured from a trust fund. The groups venue then transferred to a room in Royal Cornhill Hospital.

In 1998 a group was set up in Keith, Moray for carers meeting in a local hotel. With the support of the Consultant Psychiatrist at the Eating Disorder Service in Aberdeen, a meeting room was secured at the local hospital.

The groups merged in 2003 and charitable status was gained. The groups gather together for short discussion, but still operate separately with their own facilitators.
