Binge Eating Disorder (BED)
There is a desire to eat large amounts of food, not always at mealtimes, but the sufferer does not try to get rid of it as in bulimia.They feel depressed and or inadequate because of this inability to control.
Symptoms of Binge Eating Disorder
- Weight gain
- Feeling low
- Eating large amounts of food until feeling uncomfortably full
- Being secretive
- Mood swings
- Feeling guilty after eating and out of control
- Anxiety about weight
Compulsive overeating
The sufferer can pick at food all day long, for different reasons, but mainly because eating food is seen as a way of coping with difficult feelings.
Symptoms of Compulsive Overeating
- Picking at food all day
- Feeling low
- Feeling out of control
- Thinking about food all the time
Hi, I find it difficult to accept that I have this illness, even although I tick every box. I was diagnosed years ago with bulimia and find that easier to accept for some reason.
