How can we help?

At NEEDS Aberdeen group meetings, sufferers and their carers meet regularly to discuss items of interest and to offer support in any way possible.

People who attend often find they share many common experiences which can be discussed in complete confidence with others in similar situations. Members help to support each other through difficult times and issues.

At each Aberdeen meeting all members are welcomed, followed by a joint discussion of an item of mutual interest. After this, sufferers and carers form separate groups, each with a facilitator who has experience of an eating disorder.

Group facilitators for the sufferers’ group have had personal experience of an eating disorder, while the facilitators for the carers’ groups have experience of living with a family member who suffers from an eating disorder.

From time to time, the group invites speakers and holds workshops.

For directions, phone Anthea on 01224 557672 (Mondays 12.30-4.00 and Tuesdays 12.30-4.30 for a 'human' response!) or email Anthea.Robertson@nhs.net.
